My Approach to Helping
Have you been struggling to stay present in your life and in your relationships? Do you want to develop a relationship with your own body, but aren't sure where to start? Do you know you need to set boundaries, but don't know what your boundaries are? Have you tried talk therapy, and know you need something different?
Using a combination of talk therapy and body connection, I will provide a safe, boundaried space for you to explore these and other core questions. Throughout our sessions, I will repeatedly direct you back to the wisdom of your body, and begin to untangle your stories from your sensations. Together, we will bring you back home - to your body, to your ambitions, and to your choices.
My Role as a Therapist
I believe that by learning to simply be with ourselves and our bodies in each moment, we can discover the power of and possibility in our conscious, subconscious, and unconscious choices. I provide a gentle container in which you can deepen your understanding of yourself.
My Guiding Ethical Principles
My work is non-hierarchical and process (rather than outcome) oriented. I combine my professional training with years of personal growth and therapeutic work. Through my professional background, I am a trained witness to the traumatic impacts of oppression, political policies, and colonization. I see and feel the ways in which our numbing and disembodiment influences our individual and collective mental health. I believe that in order to heal ourselves and the collective, we must learn to reconnect with our bodies, the earth, and each other.
