My Approach to Helping
I can help you find your way. I can support you through life transitions - from grief and loss, to figuring out how to best communicate with a loved one or set boundaries with family, friends or coworkers. My practice is founded in tenets of feminist counseling theory and is mindfulness-focused and trauma-informed; and sensitive to your individual needs, goals and strengths.
Because my foundational training was with individual survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and with families exhibiting abusive behaviors, and different experiences of trauma, my style is eclectic and I utilize various therapeutic methods depending on your need. My job is to work with you to identify the method that will best fit you.
I believe you have the ability to achieve your goals and my role is to help you through that process. I am here to help you identify your goals (what would you like your life to look like/feel like after therapy?) and focus on the problems you identify, as collaborators.
