My Approach to Helping

If you are browsing these pages, it is likely you are facing some questions that you would like answered. You can find relief and answers by seeking the support that is right for you.

I take a positive, non-judgmental, person-centered approach to healing, and I work with adults who are asking questions about sexuality, life or career.

Through my work I discovered how fulfilling and satisfying life can be, when one is connected with and aligned to his or her own Essence. I define Essence as the unique combination of all the life forces that keep us alive. I focus primarily on rediscovering and reconnecting you with your inner life forces, and I have learned that when this happens, change happens.

To achieve this I use the past to teach us lessons, the future to guide decisions and the present to take action; mindfulness is key to my work.

More Info About My Practice

Dr Oberdan Marianetti is the founder of Essence Coaching, and the creator of the Essence (TM) method.

As a qualified Psychologist and Clinical Sexologist, Oberdan has successfully helped individuals and couples revive the excitement in their relationships and sex life.

He believes that we are at our best when speaking our own truths (our Essence) and allowing ourselves to connect authentically with others, in love and in work. Above all, he believes in creating a non-judgmental space for individuals to live their own lives, and grow to their fullest potential.

Embodying these principles, Oberdan offers private consultations or public workshops to help people rediscover the power and beauty of their own sexuality in an open, safe and non-judgemental environment.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

It is important that you choose someone that is right for you.

Your circumstances are unique and so is the concept of right therapist. In general, these are a few of the things I would recommend to clients who are looking for support:
- be clear with the reasons why you are looking for help
- establish a few important criteria by which you would consider a professional to be suitable
- do some preliminary online research
- ask people you trust for recommendations
- shortlist 2 or 3 professionals
- call them and directly ask questions to satisfy your chosen criteria

This should increase the chances to find the professional that is "right" for you. And remember, if after your first meeting you feel this was the wrong decision, look for someone else.
