My Approach to Helping
A seasoned, kind and compassionate therapist treats each person as the unique individual they are. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field and 15 years in private practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, inclusive of extensive work with children, teens, adults, couples and families. Work settings include: *Schools *Residential *Out-patient *Community mental health *Clinical Supervision *Private Practice My therapeutic approach includes (but is not limited to) psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, interpersonalrelational and family systems theories. Most importantly, I focus the treatment based on individual differences and needs; seeking to expand awareness, insight & growth. Embracing each client as multilayered and beyond "labels". A great deal of my experience is in working with children and teens challenged by depression, anxiety, learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, challenges of separationdivorce and blended family issues, among other social-emotional & mental health concerns. In addition, my extensive work with adult clientele often focuses on better identifying, expressing and exploring thoughts & feelings, leading to expanding self-knowledge and perspective -with the goal of learning how to better take control of one's life and respond to challenging situations with effective coping strategies and an improved sense of overall well-being.
