My Approach to Helping
Sometimes life can be overwhelming and we need support that is confidential, without judgment, and conveniently present in the safety and privacy of your home. Let\'s work together to make your corner of the world a little brighter. I am a licensed Clinical Forensic Psychologist and specialize in the assessment and treatment of substance use, personality, mood, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with two minors in Education and Art from the University of California, Davis as well as a Master of Arts and Doctorate of Psychology degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University, Sacramento. I have worked in multiple forensic and general population settings in California, Oregon, and Washington including in private practice, at the California Conditional Release Program (CONREP), community mental health, skilled nursing, and assisted living facilities and schools. While I currently practice primarily in California, I maintain an inactive license in Oregon and can provide services in Oregon if needed.
In sessions, I will utilize an eclectic approach rooted in Psychodynamic, and Control Mastery Theories with influences and tools from Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Choice Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The focus of sessions is typically devoted to partnering with you to build insight and modify maladaptive behaviors in a safe and supportive environment. I strive to give individualized interventions tailored to your needs and will choose what the research indicates will work for you. I am also a devoted activist and advocate, and I am passionate, intuitive, creative, and invested in understanding the human experience- specifically yours.
