My Approach to Helping

My approach emphasizes measurable results. It is important to me that my clients see themselves changing, because it accelerates the healing processes. When I work with families, I use the parents\\\' stress levels and enjoyment levels to measure whether good changes are occurring or not. With victims of trauma, I use bio-feedback and their anxiety levels to allow them real access to themselves. And with those suffering from depression, anxiety, or other mood related difficulties, I use energy levels, sense of excitement and fulfillment to measure progress. I\\\'ve found that when clients watch their progress, and see the changes, they respond faster to treatment. As a result, I have the honor of witnessing great movement in people\\\'s lives.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have two main areas of specialization. ChildFamily issues and victims of trauma. I've worked with kids since 1997 and have had a lot of success with helping parents find more productive ways of dealing with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder. Through the years, I developed my techniques to include helping others recover from trauma, whether from abuse, violence, or a tragic event. EMDR is a method I use to help victims of trauma, and it has turned out to prove itself as an amazing technique that gets fast results. I've seen clients of mine recover from some of the most unimaginable things in as little as 4 sessions.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

I get to see a lot of people change their minds about therapy. I remember a client of mine said he didn't believe that "just talking about things made any difference." He had severe anxiety, the kind that overwhelmed him to the point of making him physically ill. After a few EMDR sessions, the anxiety went away. He said, "I never in a million years would have thought things would be different." I truly have the best job in the world: helping others live life to the fullest.
