My Approach to Helping

You are shaped by every experience you've had, every person you've met, every love you've shared. You are also more than the sum of your parts.

I use a depth-oriented approach that is based in relationship to bring a deep understanding and empathy to our work together. I explore and participate in the present, lived experience of my clients while honoring their past and holding space for their future.

I use my training and skills to learn about you and help you grow, while never assuming that I know more (or better!) than you do.

More Info About My Practice

It's complicated to fit into our often-problematic society in a way that you feel good about. It's even more complicated to do so while still advocating for yourself and meeting your own needs. This can cause a lot of anxiety, and even feelings of depression. You might be feeling like you need to learn more about yourself so that you can be more confident about what you're offering a potential job, career, friend, or even romantic partner. This can feel especially true if you happen to be experiencing a time of transition in your life. So let's figure out how to navigate the world in a way that makes sense for YOU.

I especially love working with young adults. Our generation is passionate, caring, and creative. Often, the world we're asked to conform to is none of those things. Figuring out how to honor yourself and your values while building an abundant life is emotionally, spiritually, and mentally challenging--especially for those of us finding our own, unique paths.

I can help you fully inhabit yourself. I am attentive and attuned to my clients in a way that inspires introspection and fosters multifaceted growth. I strive to see and understand not only who my clients are now, but who they have been, and also who they are in the process of becoming. If you're intrigued, go ahead and call me for a free phone consultation.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I absolutely love my job. Getting here wasn't necessarily easy, though--I experienced a lot of anxiety as I explored my career options and tried to decide on a path that was pragmatically feasible and also personally enriching. It took a long time to end up here, and I still vividly remember those times of uncertainty and worry that I would never find "the right path" for myself.

I couldn't be more grateful for the work I do. I loving going into work every day and I (nearly) always leave feeling energized and inspired. I'm so happy I sat with that anxiety long enough to find my way here.

I love my work precisely because of the people I serve. Choosing a therapist is a big deal--you're trying to find someone to share the most intimate details of your life with. That is an incredible act of trust, and a veritable leap of faith. I always carry that knowledge with me as I work with my clients. Whatever their reasons, these people have trusted me with their hard-won honesties, their vulnerabilities, and their growth, and I am incredibly honored and privileged to accompany them. I don't take that responsibility lightly, and I am so grateful to share the journey.
