My Approach to Helping
I love my work as a therapist because it allows me to truly listen to others and pay attention to their needs. My objective as a therapist is to assist people in identifying and achieving their goals. Examples of some therapeutic goals include: improving relationships, reducing conflict, gaining clarity, improving self-image, becoming more confident, grieving a loss, reducing depression or anxiety, resolving past trauma, improving life satisfaction, etc.
Rather than adhering to one specific school of thought, I utilize an integrative approach that carefully and thoughtfully selects from several useful models. This integrative model provides many methods to achieve one’s goals in therapy: emotional work, improved communication, personal exploration, psychological awareness, education, and behavioral changes.
I was born and raised in California but have spent much of the past two decades living and working across the US and overseas. I am a military veteran, avid reader, animal lover, and the proud "dad" to two rescue mutts.
