My Approach to Helping

I love to work with people on relationships of all types - couples, family, friends, coworkers, or anyone else who is important to you. Everyone feels stuck or unhappy in relationships sometimes. My goal is to help you get unstuck from unhelpful patterns in your life and your relationships so you can experience more fulfillment and joy. To do this, I can help you better understand yourself and your loved ones, increase empathy and connection, and support you in changing behaviors that are not working for you.

I believe relationships matter. Research shows that relationship distress causes problems in your health, mental health, work, children - it can even shorten your life. On the other hand, healthy relationships protect you from stress and help you thrive. Unfortunately, too many people don’t have access to effective help for their relationships. Because of this, I also prioritize increasing access to couple therapy. I offer telehealth, evening and weekend scheduling, and lower-cost options that combine research-supported online programs with therapy sessions.

Because I believe everyone deserves healthy relationships, I believe in using relationship therapy that works. I practice evidence-based therapy, which means I use therapeutic practices that have been studied and supported by empirical research studies. My clients should feel confident that the interventions I provide have been shown to be effective.

I also practice from an affirming, feminist, and anti-racist philosophy. This means that I unconditionally accept and value my clients’ gender, sexual, racial, cultural, and other identities. My practice takes into account each person’s unique experiences within contexts of social and systemic oppression, and the impact of these forces on your interpersonal relationships.

If you are struggling, stuck, or unhappy in your relationship with someone important to you, I can help. Contact me today to take the first step toward healing and happiness.
