My Approach to Helping

Addiction to drugs and alcohol is destructive not only to the person addicted, but also their family and friends. I specialize in treating addiction and the correlating feelings of worthlessness, depression, and anxiety. The pathway to healing from substance abuse and/or mood imbalance is done by strengthening an individual's mental, physical, and spiritual nature, stopping negative cycles, and re-creating an authentic person. This is accomplished in a collaborative and compassionate environment. I provide various types of psychotherapy treatment and education to facilitate change and growth. For families that are in a cycle of chaos, codependency, or enabling behavior, I help set healthy boundaries and I teach about the disease of addiction. I also provide referrals to additional professional services. For those needing addiction intervention, I am a Certified ARISE Interventionist. This invitational service helps an addicted individual engage in treatment to begin a life of recovery and freedom from dependence and addiction. Call to discuss how to facilitate a family intervention to those addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Most therapy is usually accomplished in 2-4 months. I offer a free consultation to determine if my skill-set matches your needs.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I provide individual, family, and couples therapy. I specialize in substance and process addictions as well as a wide variety of mental illnesses including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I also work with mindfulness, spirituality, and religious challenges.

What Makes up a Problem?

The consequences of addiction can be devastating and can dramatically impact a person and his or her loved-ones' lives. Addiction is a progressive disease that usually begins with experimentation, followed by increased use, abuse, and often both physical and psychological dependence. If you are concerned with the impact of drugs and alcohol on your life, I offer three levels of Alcohol and Drug Assessments. For executives and professionals I offer detailed, professional Assessments that satisfy the requirements for several governing bodies such as the Department of Public Licensing (DOPL) and the Utah Bar Association as well as your Human Resources and Employee Assistant Programs.
