My Approach to Helping
Gwendolyn Mitchell empowers individuals, couples, and families to improve their lifestyles and relationships. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist; certified "Marriage Intensive" and state "Life-Together-Forever" counselor. She has a Master's degree in Counseling in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. Her therapeutic foundations are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She offers couples counseling for pre-marital to married couples and individual counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and addiction (alcohol, drug, sexual) therapy. In her spare time, she loves to garden, cook, sew, play the piano, and bowl. She has two adult children and three grandchildren.
