More Info About My Practice

Choosing to take the final step to beginning therapy is often difficult. Folks often stop just short of reaching out to a therapist. Many clients tell me they long delayed starting treatment because they were worried that therapy wouldn’t really help them, or that it will take too much of a time commitment, or because they just didn’t know what to expect. Only to quickly realize that therapy can be extremely helpful, that they need and deserve to take the time for themselves, and that they wish they’d have reached out and begun their treatment sooner! You deserve to be heard, to address your problems, to find relief, to heal. When you are ready, I’m here for you, and I’m looking forward to meeting you.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I specialize in treating survivors of abuse and trauma. I am especially clinically skilled and sensitive to the specific needs of survivors of sexual abuse and assault. I recognize the often profound impacts of traumas and my approach to treating them respects the gravity and often delicate nature of the matters in question.

If you are a trauma survivor considering treatment under my care, please know that the pace of your treatment will be your own. You will not be pushed to make disclosures or detail the events at the outset of our relationship. Indeed, many of my clients do not disclose or fully detail the trauma in their backgrounds at intake. Instead, only once we have built trust, and when you feel safe and secure within our therapeutic relationship, you will be welcomed to choose to begin the process of discussing, processing, and ultimately healing from your trauma.

While therapy for trauma can be a difficult process, it is often vital, necessary work, and it is typically effective in meaningfully reducing symptoms and negative impacts. I am continually amazed by my clients strength, resilience, and ability to heal and to flourish. I always feel honored when invited to assist clients in their journeys to overcome and to triumph over their traumas. I sincerely hope that you will invite me to become a part of yours.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe that creating a warm, trusting, and welcoming relationship with each one of my clients is critically important for effective treatment. I genuinely care for my clients, and I work to create a safe, welcoming, empathetic environment for them to heal, grow, and change in pursuit of their mental health and overall well-being.
