My Approach to Helping

I combine psychotherapy and soul work. The original meaning of psychology is “study of the soul.” With the fast pace of our society, we are often left feeling like there’s not enough time to listen to what our inner worlds are saying.
With the tools of psychotherapy, we can explore ways to set in motion the changes you wish to see. With an ear to your inner longings, we can ask: "What is asking to be healed?” “What is being created?” Tending to your inner and outer worlds forges the space for new paths, energy, and creativity.

More Info About My Practice

I describe my approach as holistic, integrative, and intuitive. I believe that the fullest healing occurs when we tend to mind, body, and soul. Our sessions may weave together different approaches depending on what your needs and experiences are in a given moment. We may spend a fair amount of time talking. We can also be curious about what feelings and sensations arise in your body as you talk. I like to work with tools that encourage integration between left- and right-brain processes. Our left brain is oriented toward logic and problem solving. The right brain often remembers through a felt-sense in the body, symbols, images, and creativity. We need both types of processes to thrive and feel whole. Making space for these different expressions invites a deeper and more integrated path to healing. Find out more on my website.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe that therapy is a space to discover and incubate the changes we want to make in our daily lives. Sure, usually it's the problems and suffering that may lead us to the therapist's office. We are human, afterall. One of the beauties of our human condition is that, given a supportive and encouraging space, our problems can become the catalysts that wake us up and transform our lives. We begin listening more deeply to that inner voice. We tend to what needs to be healed, so that we can move forward and more authentically connect to the world. We can be more of who we are meant to be. I personally continue using therapy as a way to keep working on uncovering the gifts I have to offer the world and live with intention. I believe that therapy helps us live more boldly.
